About Diane

Diane Culver

Hi there,

I really appreciate you stopping by my website and would like to take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and why I am running for Wylie City Council Place 6. My name is Diane Culver and I have enjoyed living in Wylie since 2003. I am the mother of a beautiful, sweet and kind 17 year old daughter who is currently attending Wylie East High School. I am wife to the best man I have ever had the honor of knowing, and am so thankful that God saw fit to bless me by bringing the two of us together. My husband Jim and my daughter Nikki are truly the best blessings God could have ever given me.

I am employed as a Client Processing Specialist for FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, based in Plano TX. I was previously employed as an Insurance Specialist/Claim Specialist in the Risk Management Department for The Centex Corporation, a commercial and residential construction and development corporation.

Presently I hold the office of 2nd Vice President for Wylie East Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). I am currently fulfilling my second year as a committee member on the Wylie ISD Bond Review Committee. I have previously served on both the Animal Control Board, WISD bond Committee and as Secretary for the Wylie East Band Boosters.

Shortly after moving to Wylie I became involved in our Community by participating in various volunteer and fundraising activities. I take great pride and gain immense satisfaction from dutifully serving the citizens of our Community and helping bring people together for the enrichment of our wonderful city. My involvement in the Community allowed me the opportunity to meet many of the wonderful people of Wylie. These relationships helped develop my desire to help make Wylie the best possible city in which to raise my family.

I feel it is very important that the leaders of Wylie set a positive example for the citizens and especially for the youth of our city. Elected Officials should hold themselves to a higher standard because they are the public face of Wylie and represent the Community as a whole. It is imperative that we develop and establish a strong Code of Ethics for our City Council and appointed Board and Commission members. The citizens of Wylie deserve a solid commitment from their leaders stating they will uphold themselves to the highest of ethical standards. Integrity should not be an option when serving our community. It should be a requirement.

Keeping this in mind, and after much consideration, I have thoughtfully decided to run for City Council Place 6. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments. I would appreciate your support and the honor of your vote.
